So Let's Build Your Own Online Business
This lesson is NOT a pretend or theoretical lesson. It's totally real and is an outline of how I built my own Internet Business. There are many different ways you can create your own online business, and this lesson will cover three ways (actually a combination of three ways) that can be used.METHOD ONE: DIY or Do It Yourself
Main positive characteristics of the DIY method.
- Cost is very small, especially at the beginning
- What you learn is really learned.
- This is a no frills approach
- Can be a bit confusing
- May require some repetition
- Takes longer than other methods
After a few weeks of searching I discovered a system uses a series of over ninety videos produced by Eric Holmlund of ericstips.com. They are very well done and FREE! You can download a PDF which has the outline of the topics covered and active links to each video.

For a couple of months I studied from these videos. They were very helpful, but I began to realize some of them were more technical and sophisticated than I was ready for at that point in the learning process.
After some more searching I found a system that covered the same material but more in-depth, yet slightly more understandable.
METHOD TWO: The System called SBI!
After reading a blog promoting a system including both building a business and creating a website, I analyzed carefully the promotional material of SiteBuildIt!. I watched several promotional videos of people of people who actually used the system. The following videos are the ones that it that started me thinking it might be wise to continue my startup by joining SBI!.

This video is ideal for the small business person just starting out (and there are zillions of folks in this boat, looking for a way to make money online).

My biggest hindrance to using SBI! was that it cost $299 per year, or the plan I would use was $29 per month. I really didn't want to spend any money, but the more I researched the system the more convinced I became that doing so would be a wise investment. There were three main things that were the points convincing me to "bite the bullet" and make a financial investment in my own ability to make the online business a reality.

Making really quick decisions about spending money has never been part of my process, and it took another three or four weeks of thinking and analyzing the benefits and consequences of what I should do. Knowing I was serious about building a profitable and beneficial business, I finally realized a $299 investment was very small compared to what building a traditional "brick and mortar" business would cost.
So I finally clicked the "send" button and committed to SBI! for one year of learning.
And what a smart decision that turned out to be!
Where my business stands now.
At the end of the first year I had made significant progress in building my own online business.
- Constructed my first website which has become the cornerstone of my business.
- Developed a plan for future development of the total business.
- Learned how to find profitable niches.
- Discovered multiple methods of serving people and still make a profit.
- Found several ways of promoting my business without spending large amounts of money.
The instruction I received in that year gave me the confidence and knowledge to continue building my business and even branch out in finding ways to grow without spending too much money.
Continuing to search for ways to grow and improve, I returned to Eric Holmlund's site to see if he had developed any new instructional videos. From that search I effectively merged into the next system of building and growing my Internet business.
METHOD THREE: NCIS (No Cost Income System)
To my encouragement, Eric had refined his initial free videos into a more comprehensive instructional system selling for the low price of $27. Feeling confident in my own abilities and having trust in Eric's integrity, I purchased that system and bonuses.
The additional knowledge I gained enabled me to branch out in my own business and create different income sources at a minimal cost.
Eric has presently updated that system and is offering the No Cost Income System at the same ultra-reasonable price. He has also increased the number of bonus packages that make the system and outstanding value.
Currently my business consists of the following.
- An ebook writing site. I presently have six ebooks on Amazon.com and several more in the development stage.
- A site dedicated to golf, especially focusing on how to lower your score and enjoy the game more.
- One site devoted to educational leadership in public schools, Christian schools and homeschooling.
- A content-rich online store with many sub-niches.
- One site helping students learn chemistry.
- Content writing for other website owners.
- Hosting Fee......... $ 50
- Domain Names... $130
- Misc.................... $ 75
- TOTAL............... $225
That cost doesn't seem unreasonable to me. As of yet I have not done any paid ads, although that is the next step I envision.
So there you have it; the actual series of learning and production I have used in creating my own online business.
